Every startup has a story. Ours started with a €5,000 grant, years of experience across completely different industries, and a shared belief that AI interior design could change how people furnish their homes.

Today, MeltFlex is a free AI interior design software that lets anyone upload a floor plan and turn it into an interactive 3D room design — complete with real furniture you can actually buy. It is what we do full-time, and everything we have done before led us here.

The Experience That Shaped MeltFlex

Before MeltFlex, both founders spent years building expertise that would later become the foundation of the product.

Matus came from the world of software engineering and hackathons. With 8 first-place hackathon wins across diverse challenges — from smart cities to AI-driven automation — he had learned to build real products under extreme time pressure. He studied computer science at FIIT STU (Slovak University of Technology), where he was awarded Student of the Year for outstanding achievements in research and development. He also gained professional experience as a Java Spring Developer at Henkel, contributing to Catena-X and working across backend development, APIs, and DevOps — building the engineering foundation that MeltFlex now runs on.

Branislav came from London's real estate industry. He spent 8 years working with property developers, gaining a deep understanding of the entire property sales process — from off-plan marketing to buyer decision-making. He completed his Real Estate Masters at LSE (London School of Economics) — the #1 real estate program in Europe — and knows exactly what developers and homeowners need to visualize and sell a property. He also organized Model European Parliament and Model United Nations events during his studies, building a track record of bringing people together around complex challenges.

Those complementary backgrounds — deep technical ability and real-world understanding of how homes are sold and bought — are what shaped MeltFlex from day one.

How MeltFlex Started

MeltFlex began in 2023. A €5,000 grant from the Tatra Banka Foundation gave us the initial funding to turn an idea into a real product. The core insight was simple: converting 2D floor plans into 3D interior design models could transform how people design their homes — and nobody was doing it well enough.

MeltFlex was showcased at SlovakiaTech 2024, the biggest technology expo in Slovakia, and at Inofest, an innovation event held at the Kia automotive plant. The work was featured on Slovak national television (RTVS) and covered by NexTech, Slovakia's largest technology magazine. The team was honored with the BMW Innovation Award and the Technological Impact Award.

Matus Kolejak — Co-CEO & Technical Lead

Matus now leads the development of the entire interior design software — from the computer vision pipeline that converts 2D floor plans to 3D, to the real-time 3D room planner, to the generative AI that produces photorealistic 3D rendering interior design visualizations. Everything he learned from hackathons, university, and enterprise software development at Henkel is now channeled into one thing: making MeltFlex the best AI interior design tool on the market.

Branislav Hrivnak — Co-CEO & Real Estate Strategy

Branislav now brings all of his real estate experience directly into MeltFlex. His years of working with developers in London gave him a deep understanding of what homeowners and property professionals actually need from room interior design software. While Matus builds the technology, Branislav ensures that MeltFlex solves real problems for real people — from apartment interior design for first-time buyers to large-scale visualization for property developers.
